About
Bright Light Mentoring Service

We aim to empower individuals with mental health conditions by promoting personal growth, resilience, and well-being. By providing personalised mentoring, goal setting, skill-building, emotional support and community integration, Bright Light Mentoring Service offers a comprehensive and tailored approach to support individuals on their journey towards improved mental health.

Bright Light Mentoring Service provides personal support for NDIS participants and community members affected by mental health and psychosocial issues.

Bright Light Mentoring encourages participants to step out of their comfort zone and explore the world, discover new interests and hobbies. Bright Lights motto is;

Live and let live.

We provide 1:1 support in community participation.

All our Mentor workers have a range of skills, training, and tools to help participants feel calm and relaxed while engaging with the community, with friends and family, and while participating in recreational activities and educational environments.

Here at Bright Light Mentoring, we recognise that each individual with a mental health condition is different and tailor our support plans to meet the participants wants, needs and goals.

Bright Light Mentoring Service is a small Wollongong-based company, with locally sourced and experienced Mentor workers. We support most parts of the Illawarra and Shoalhaven region.

Bright Light Mentoring Service is all about facilitating and nurturing participants to achieve their goals.

Mentors do this with positivity, respect and empowerment towards all people, facilitating participants to be the best versions of themselves.

Mentors and participants work collaboratively to foster knowledge, insights and learning. Helping to achieve the participants personal goals.

Mentors foster safety and care when engaging with participants. Mentor's do this in a non-judgmental and respectful manner.

We aim to be creative and responsive to participants' needs and aspirations. Whilst embedding participants within their community, family, work, culture or recreational activities.

Bright Light Mentoring Service mentors provide advice, feedback, guidance and support to participants and their support network. Mentors serve as advisor, advocate, ally, counsellor, friend and role model. The role of Mentors is to adapt and develop based on the goals and objectives negotiated with the participant and their support networks.

At Bright Light Mentoring Service the safety of our participants, mentors and all stakeholders is our highest priority.

Bright Light Mentoring Service acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, sea, and waterways upon which we live and work. Bright Light Mentoring Service pay our respects to their Elder's past and present and recognise their strengths and continuing connection to land, culture and spirit.
